Spicules are long, thin structures that are observed on the surface of the Sun. They appear as narrow jets of gas that shoot up from the Sun’s chromosphere, which is the layer of the solar atmosphere just above the visible surface known as the photosphere.
Spicules are typically about 300 to 500 kilometers (190 to 310 miles) in width and can extend up to 10,000 kilometers (6,200 miles) in height. They are short-lived, lasting for only a few minutes before fading away. However, they are continuously formed and disintegrated on the Sun’s surface, with an estimated 150,000 spicules appearing at any given time.
These dynamic features are primarily composed of hydrogen gas and can reach speeds of around 20 kilometers (12 miles) per second as they surge upwards. The exact mechanisms behind spicule formation are still not fully understood, but they are believed to be associated with the complex magnetic activity occurring in the Sun’s outer layers.
Spicules play a significant role in the transfer of energy and mass throughout the Sun’s atmosphere. They contribute to the heating of the Sun’s corona, the extremely hot outermost layer of the solar atmosphere, and also play a role in the solar wind, which is a stream of charged particles continuously emanating from the Sun.
Studying spicules helps scientists gain insights into the dynamics of the Sun’s atmosphere, magnetic fields, and energy transfer processes. They are typically observed using specialized instruments and telescopes designed to capture high-resolution images of the Sun’s surface, such as the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) and the Interface Region Imaging Spectrograph (IRIS).
Architecture building masses and building units have always taken inspiration from nature and sun being the center of solar system strongly states that the every living unit should be created around heat/sun. For bringing this concept into execution for new world formula solar spicules will play a massive role in determining that how we can replicate solar system’s system in every architectural unit as fractal . Architecture is the biggest fractal system.
